Anuloma Viloma

 

 

Anuloma Viloma is alternate nostril breathing. This pranayama helps in removing nasal blockages and managing sleeplessness.  

Description

  1. Sit with erect spine in any meditative posture preferably in Vajrasana.
  2. Close your left nostril with your thumb and breathe in through the right nostril for 2 seconds.
  3. Close both the nostrils and hold your breath in for 4 seconds.
  4. Open the left nostril and breathe out in 2 seconds keeping the right nostril closed.
  5. Now breathe in through the left nostril and hold your breath in for 4 seconds.
  6. Open the right nostril and breathe out in 2 seconds keeping the left nostril closed.
  7. That completes one breathing cycle of the pranayama.
  8. Repeat likewise up to maximum 10 cycles.
  9. Do not hurry to open your eyes and just be with yourself for a little time.
